With the support of the French government and the African authorities, Business France is running “Ambition Africa” for the second time, with this year’s event taking place from October 30-31.

This leading annual Franco-African gathering is placed under the high patronage of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron and supported by the Ministry for the Economy and Finance as well as the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. It takes place in the presence of ministers, ambassadors and business delegations from across the African continent.

Ambition Africa is a two-day event which comprises the following:

- A plenary session attended by French and African officials, opened by Bruno Le Maire, Minister for the Economy and Finance;

- Thematic/sectoral workshops;

- Targeted B2B meetings, a group of experts and networking sessions.

France Invest’s Africa Club has joined this year’s event and will be organizing a session on private equity in Africa, a growth driver for companies and investors. This conference is the meeting point for African entrepreneurs, public and private equity investors, and institutional partners.

The 2018 edition of Ambition Africa brought together nearly 460 French businesses and 500 companies from 38 African countries, including Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco, Mali, Senegal, and Kenya, as well as around a hundred journalists. All in all, more than 1,000 participants took part.

Nearly 1,000 B2B meetings were scheduled, with the aim of the 2019 event being to organize double the amount.
