Travelers taking to TripAdvisor all seem to agree on one point: the Paris-based Musée d’Orsay, which received 3,178,000 visitors in 2017, is their favorite!
The booking and trip-planning site unveiled the winners of the Travelers' Choice Awards for Museums in early September. The winners were determined by an algorithm that takes into account the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings posted by Internet users around the world over twelve months.
A jewel in France’s crown, the Musée d'Orsay has knocked the New York City-based winner for the last three years, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, off the top spot. Five European museums are listed in the top ten, with the Louvre finishing in seventh position.
The award serves as a fitting tribute to French culture.
