For the last fifteen years, France has been Europe’s leading country for industrial investments.

In mid-November, consulting firm EY published its first ever France industrial attractiveness survey, examining the gap between the perception of a country and its industry and its ability to attract capital and talent from around the world.

The survey concluded that France has been the leading country for industrial investments for the last fifteen years. In 2017, France welcomed 16% of European investment in industry, which represented one-third of foreign investment projects in France.

Foreign investment projects in industry are very diverse and distributed throughout the country, with 58% in cities with fewer than 200,000 inhabitants.

What’s more, France is innovative, with 61% of R&D projects linked to industry.

Finally, 77% of international decision-makers are confident about the future of industry in France.
