The American Chamber of Commerce in France recently published the 2017 AmCham-Bain Business Climate Survey. Written in conjunction with the consulting firm Bain & Company, the annual survey measures the satisfaction of American investors in France, and their views on the France’s business environment.

The latest survey reports a vast improvement in the mood of American investors, 72% of whom believe that the business climate in France will improve over the next few years. This represents an increase in investor confidence of 23 percentage points since 2016, and 45 percentage points since 2015.

This optimism can also be seen for example in their expectations of being able to expand their French workforces in the near future, with 52% of those surveyed predicting an increase in jobs in France (up 31% from 2016).

Among the main advantages of France as an investment location, American investors pointed to its central location (79%), workforce qualifications (64%) and infrastructure (61%), as well as culture (84%) and quality of life (70%).
