Thanks to a fundraising round totaling US$300 million, e-commerce startup Mirakl is now a unicorn.

This fundraising is the largest ever carried out by a French startup. Led by the international fund Permira and its longstanding investors (83North, Bain Capital Ventures, Elaia Partners and Felix Capital), the fundraising round has valued Mirakl at US$1.5 billion.

This French publisher of marketplace solutions works with more than 300 customer brands. Its aim is to enable these brands to compete with the giants of e-commerce and even to reduce their market dominance.

In France, this startup has already won over Carrefour, Conforama, Office Dépôt and Darty; internationally, its services have been adopted by such distribution giants as BestBuy, Kroger and Walmart.Since its creation in 2011, Mirakl has grown in 30 countries and has opened subsidiaries in the UK, Germany and the US.The volume of business generated has increased by 111% and its revenues, totaling nearly €100 million, have already tripled since the last fundraising, in February 2019. To cope with this growth, Philippe Corrot, the founder and president of Mirakl, plans to recruit 1,000 employees worldwide, including 300 engineers in France, to invest in its technology and to fast-track its international development. Mirakl currently employs around 300 people.
