With 416 transactions carried out, startups from “La French Tech” raised more than €5 billion in venture capital during the first half of 2021, according to the EY French Venture Capital Barometer.

“La French Tech” can be proud of having raised €5.14 billion in the first half of 2021, despite the health crisis, a rise of 90% in revenues and 16% in unit sales, compared with the first half of 2020, and 84% in revenues and 7% in unit sales compared with 2019.

Ile de France (Paris region) remained the leader, with 81% of investments, followed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (5%) and Occitanie (2%) regions.

The top five sectors were:

€390 million raised – 38 transactions

In the top five businesses, Contentsquare (analytical experience) raised the most funds with €408 million, followed by Ledger (cryptocurrency portfolio) with €312 million, IAD (real estate network) with €300 million, BackMarket (reconditioned products market) with €276 million, and Alan (online health insurance) with €185 million.
