Business France has launched a “France: A hub for Africa” fact sheet to coincide with the launch by Business France CEO Christophe Lecourtier of the very first Ambition Africa 2018 event on July 10 in the Bercy area of Paris.

A booming market, Africa is expected to be home to a quarter of the world's population in 2050, and has very high economic growth. For Christophe Lecourtier, this growing market represents an opportunity for both French companies in Africa and for African companies in France, with the aim of the Ambition Africa 2018 event being to establish a close and lasting partnership between France and the African continent.

France and Africa already have a very strong commercial relationship. France is currently Africa's largest European trading partner, and is responsible for 19% of the European Union's exports to the African continent. What’s more, French FDI stock in Africa has increased sevenfold since 2002.

Boasting a top location and excellent infrastructure, France has what it takes to serve as a hub to Africa, with 81% of companies based in France in agreement. Importantly, many foreign companies have chosen to move to France purely to have better access to African markets.
