French medical appointment platform Doctolib has just completed a new round of fund raising worth €150 million. Its valuation now exceeds €1 billion, making it officially a unicorn.

Stanislas Niox-Chateau, co-founder and CEO of the French startup, aims to double its workforce within the next three years, increase its international presence, and expand its telemedicine service.

Founded in 2013, Doctolib employs 750 people in France and Germany, including 150 engineers. There are currently 75,000 practitioners and 1,400 healthcare facilities using Doctolib in more than 40 cities, with the site attracting 15% of healthcare professionals in France. In Germany, the platform has already welcomed nearly 5,000 practitioners in the last two years.

With 30 million monthly visits it is the leading e-health site in Europe, and among the best in the world. Doctolib has been running a video consultation service since January 2019 and also facilitates doctor-to-doctor collaboration.
