Mid-size French companies lead the way for job creation

According to a recently published report by the French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) about companies in France, the growth of salaried employment in the commercial sector between 2009 and 2015 was due mainly to mid-size companies.

During this six-year time frame, mid-size businesses were responsible for creating 337,500 new jobs, the majority of which came from SMEs (on the way to becoming or forming part of a mid-size business). The latter not only came top for creating jobs but were also responsible for driving growth.

This is a finding also shared by the government, since the forthcoming Businesses Bill (which is set to become law in spring 2018) aims to help SMEs grow and export better to international markets.
