The World Bank’s Doing Business report, now in its 15th year, lists the regulations that make it easier or harder to do business in 190 countries. The 2018 edition also takes into account all reforms completed by June 1, 2017.
The 2018 report ranks France 31st overall (15th among EU countries), underlining its strong performance in trading across borders, an indicator set where France was once again ranked first this year.
Not only is France seen as a model for implementing reforms to resolve insolvency (ranked 28th), but the country also scored well under enforcing contracts (15th), dealing with construction permits (18th), getting electricity (26th), starting a business (27th), and protecting minority shareholders (31st).
