QS World University Rankings has just released its first ever list of the world’s top business schools, which features nine French institutions with HEC finishing in first place.

The results put France ahead of the United Kingdom (six institutions on the list) and the United States (four institutions).

The other French establishments which feature in the rankings are:

  • L’Essec (4th)
  • ESCP Europe (11th)
  • EM Lyon (12th)
  • Edhec (14th)
  • Grenoble EM (26th)
  • Université Paris-Dauphine (33rd)
  • Skema Business School (41st)
  • Audencia (42nd)
  • KEDGE Business School (43rd)

QS has also published a list of the top master’s courses in finance, which sees HEC in third place and five other French institutions in the top 50. These include: EM Lyon (9th), Essec (10th), Edhec (21st), Skema Business School (37th) and Grenoble EM (41st).

These latest results come after the release of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in November, which estimates the employability of young graduates. Twelve French institutions featured on the list, including three in the top 30.
