The Institute for Business Value, part of IBM Services, publishes the Global Location Trends Report every year, which presents key trends in international investment. It relies on greenfield public investment announcements and places a particular emphasis on the number of jobs created.

The 2019 edition of the report has just been released, the highlights of which include:

- France was sixth in the world for the number of jobs created by FDI in 2018, up from 11th in 2017.

- Paris, for the first time, has overtaken London in terms of hosting FDI projects, with nearly 250 projects identified in 2018.

- France was the sixth largest investor in 2018, with nearly 80,000 jobs created from French FDI projects.
